The most legendary sports town in the Tyrolean Alps shows a very different side, its “criminological” side which re- gularly attracts crime fans to the TV screen. An evergreen crime series shown by ZDF and ORF will have a new character after 13 years and 170 episodes. Julia Cencig will report for duty as the new “SOKO Kitzbühel” Inspector at the beginning of February 2015. But it is not all smooth going for Nina Pokorny in the Tyrolean Alps; Lukus Roither (Jakob Seeböck), the new boss of the squad, has to defend his territory in the true sense of the word. And Inspector Kroisleitner (Ferry Öllinger) remains sceptical, as she seems to conceal a secret. But this much is sure: Nina Pokorny is anything but an amateur, and this is how the evening series contin- ues to be in safe hands, even if she has to get used to the team work and country life first. About her role: “Nina Pokorny is an emancipated person who has a loose tongue and is very con- frontational. She doesn’t look for just a harmo- nious interaction with her counterpart, but does not mince matters. She is rather emotional and isn’t shy about showing her counterpart her fee- lings. She has gut instincts. And she is urban and has her issues with these provincial surroundings in which she finds herself. In the beginning, eve- rything is too green and too healthy for her. This is the start of her character. And I also welcomed this in terms of acting, to show somebody who doesn’t find it so cool to come to the Tyrol. Playing an Ins- pector is completely new casting for me and assu- ming the lead of a series is a fantastic challenge for me. Personally, I really like the crime genre as well. For me, “SOKO Kitzbühel” is like a fairy tale crime; the combination of beautiful scenery with a good sense of humour, suspense and the idyll – the au- dience loves that. Regarding the investigations, she also has nonorthodox dodges, and she is a precise observer. She is a volatile character, a very urban woman and she feels a bit exotic in Kitzbuehel. Sometimes it is too green for her here, too healthy, too provincial.” Ferry Öllinger has enhanced the “SOKO” team since the start of the series in 2001 as Kroisleitner. About his new role: “In terms of profession, Julia Cencig is a wonderful new colleague. In her role as Nina Pokorny she is, as they say, quite an annoying irri- tant from the capital city, who is Kroisi's superior, and who severely upsets his career plans to be- come the local police commander. All the more so I have to follow her and watch what she’s doing. In her eyes we are all clodhoppers and of course she always knows best. But a fully-fledged Tyrolean cannot tolerate change just like that. ”What can the audience expect?“ A new colleague who brings with her a lot of energy and stories which are told differently. In the whole season, the stories blend into each other and there is also space for perso- nal matters. It is more about the relationships be- tween the characters. The new filming in Kitzbuehel and its surroundings lasted until October 2014, and it is expected to be broadcast in 2015.“SOKO Kitzbühel” is a co-produc- tion of ORF and ZDF, produced by “beo-Film” and supported by “Cine Tirol”. Kitzbühel und seine Umge- bung geben dem aufregenden Geschehen einen friedlichen Rahmen Kitzbuehel and its surroundings offer a peaceful frame for the exciting events
